Jan Gelman Change Facilitator

Jan Gelman is a leadership coach and organization development consultant who is known for her authenticity and ability to combine compassion, curiosity and directness to help leaders get to the heart of their challenges. Whether she is working with CEOs or front line personnel, Jan believes that her clients are fully capable and that her role is to encourage them to take initiative, move past self-imposed limitations, and rise to their potential.

She has been an internal leadership consultant at Washington State Labor & Industries and an external consultant with organizations such as Microsoft, General Electric, Bug Music/Windswept, Point B, Peer 1, Whitepages.com, CarDomain, ShareBuilder, SumTotal Systems, King County Metro Transit, FareStart and Gage Academy of Art. Jan’s experience with Microsoft spans more than 12 years, and includes coaching senior managers across the company, delivering Leadership Challenge workshops for SMSG ExPo, and facilitating Management Excellence Foundation and Midterm training events, as well as strategy and website work with MSN and MSCOM.

Jan holds a Master of Arts degree in applied behavioral science (focus on coaching and consulting in organizations) from the Leadership Institute of Seattle at Bastyr University and a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is certified in Genos’ Emotional Intelligence assessments and development tools and works with Jim Kouzes’ and Barry Posner’s Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI).
