Isilon Systems provides scale-out, network attached storage, enabling organizations worldwide to manage large and rapidly growing amounts of file-based data in a highly scalable, easy-to-manage and cost-effective way. To scale and grow its business, the company needed a common approach to managing software development and related projects, and an improved confluence of people, process and technology.
BECAUZ was asked to provide Project Management and Project Leadership training because of our fluency in software development models such as linear, iterative and agile, and our ability to tailor training to diverse needs – cultural diversity, different levels of project management expertise and non-developer audiences. In a one-day intensive session the top twenty-seven managers learned a common language and reached a common understanding of best practices. Breakouts helped the managers to learn about the challenges confronted by different disciplines and teams, resulting in several new and important insights. The session prepared the top managers to disseminate new practices to over two hundred additional engineering personnel – with a view to assuring that the right projects were being done right.
The result was a new climate of knowledge sharing, a more cohesive team and an organization better prepared to scale and grow.
