Our clients’ goals – to promote higher productivity, foster innovation, attract and retain top talent, control costs and manage through economic uncertainties-are constant. But communicating effectively in writing and especially in email to their senior leadership (up to and including the CEO) needed a makeover.
Senior management was far too involved in the general manager’s teams’ development of communications and subsequent reviews – so they brought in BECAUZ to help rectify the situation. Partnering closely with our client, we identified their specific needs and objectives, including the guiding principles they wanted to institute. We then honed the communications framework over three client review sessions.
Presented in a high-energy and entertaining People Development & Training “Five Easy Pieces” workshop, the result was a set of guiding principles, a common language and a format for written communications specifically tailored to the team’s needs. A peer review system was established to uphold communications standards while keeping management participation to a minimum.
Now, a strong and relevant communications guidance system is in place. Senior management has more time to focus on their work – and written communications have been transformed from a knotty problem into a streamlined medium that enhances effectiveness and supports the General Manager’s organizational goals.
